Our fundraising goal for 2025/2026 is $80,000 to cover the cost of the avionics and powerplant sub-kits we need to compete our airplane.
In considering your level of support, please keep in mind that both PayPal and GoFundMe give you the option of making a one time donation or a recurring donation. A recurring donation of small amounts spread out over time adds up and is just as effective as one larger donation. Either way, your support in reaching our goal over the next two years will be greatly appreciated.
Building an experimental airplane is an expensive proposition. To date, we have purchased the first four of six sub-kits needed to complete the airplane, the tailcone/empennage which is completed, the fuselage which is about 50% completed, and the wings which we just received and the Finish Kit which we have on order. We still need to purchase the powerplant kit and avionics kits to finish the airplane. The powerplant and avionics are the most expensive, and all in all, we need to raise about $80,000 over the next two years to complete the airplane.
There are other miscellaneous costs as well, such as insurance, state fees, comsumable supplies, and other various small expenses needed to run a business. Fortunately, we have no payroll or personnel expenses since everyone associated with the charity and the program, including the Board of Directors, the officers of the corporation and our program mentors, volunteer their time without compensation.
